Privacy Policy
Effective June 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Roohbrew Inc. (“Roohbrew,” “we,” “us”) collects from you, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our app, and the gatherings people find through them (together, the “Service”). It is part of our Terms of Service.
We have written this in plain language because we want you to actually read it. If anything is unclear, write to us at roohbrew.admin@gmail.com.
1. The short version
We collect the information we need to run Roohbrew — to let you create an account, find gatherings near you, RSVP, and interact with hosts and other attendees — plus information that helps us improve how we match people to events over time. We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for third-party marketing. We use trusted service providers (like hosting and analytics tools, and, when payments are enabled, a payment processor) to help us run the Service. We try to collect only what we need.
2. What we collect
2.1 Information you give us
When you join the waitlist: your name, your email or phone, and your written response to our question about what people around you appreciate you for. We use that response to understand the balance of people who might host and people who might attend, and to decide who to invite off the waitlist.
When you create an account: your name, email, phone number, age, and your general or precise location. We may also ask for your gender and your social media handles.
As you use the Service: the content you post, including event descriptions, photographs, your profile information, and the short post-event notes between participants that we call Roohbrew Letters. The events you create, RSVP to, attend, and the contributions you commit to.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
Location. Depending on your device and settings, we may collect your general or precise location so we can show you events near you. You can manage location permissions in your device settings.
Usage and relationship information. How you use the Service — the events and people you view, save, and interact with, the searches you run — and, because Roohbrew is built around repeat, in-person gatherings, patterns of which people attend events together over time. We use this information to improve how we match people to events.
Device and technical information. Standard device, log, and analytics information needed to operate and secure the Service, including IP address, device type, operating system, and similar technical details.
Payment information. When payments are enabled, payment-card details are collected and handled by a third-party payment processor under its own terms. We do not store full card numbers.
2.3 The categories described above
As the Service evolves we may add new signals to the categories above (for example, new kinds of usage information that help matching). We will update this Privacy Policy when we do, but the categories described here are intended to be broad enough that incremental additions remain within them.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Run the Service — create and manage your account, surface events you may want to attend, support RSVPs and event creation, and host the content you post.
- Match people to events using automated systems, and improve that matching over time. Matching is automated and imperfect, and we do not guarantee outcomes.
- Process payments through a third-party payment processor when payments are enabled.
- Communicate with you about events, your account, and service or security matters.
- Maintain safety and integrity, investigate suspected misuse, and act on reports of violations of our Terms or Community Guidelines.
- Promote and market the Service, including showing examples of content you have posted (such as Roohbrew Letters and event photos) consistent with the content license in our Terms.
- Comply with law and protect our rights, your rights, and the rights of others.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for third-party marketing. We share information only as described below.
With service providers. We share information with vendors that help us run the Service — for example, our hosting provider, our analytics tool, our email and messaging providers, and, when payments are enabled, our payment processor. They are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
With other people on Roohbrew, to the extent the Service requires. Hosts can see who has RSVP’d to their events. Attendees can see limited profile information about hosts and other attendees of events they’re part of. You decide what to put in your profile and what content to post.
To comply with law and protect people. We may share information when we believe in good faith that we are required to by law, or that doing so is necessary to protect our rights, your rights, the rights of others, or the safety or integrity of the Service.
In a corporate transaction. If Roohbrew is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will continue to protect it consistent with this Privacy Policy, or notify you of any material change.
5. Your choices
You can update or correct your profile information from your account at any time. You can manage notification preferences in your account settings. For text messages, you can reply STOP to opt out. You can ask us to delete your account by writing to us at roohbrew.admin@gmail.com, and we will do so subject to our legal obligations and limited exceptions described below.
6. California residents — your CCPA rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the following rights, subject to certain exceptions:
The right to know. You can ask us what categories of personal information we have collected about you, where we got it, why we collected it, the categories we shared it with, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold.
The right to delete. You can ask us to delete personal information we have collected from you. We may keep information we need to complete a transaction you asked for, detect fraud or security incidents, comply with law, or for other limited reasons permitted under the CCPA.
The right to correct. You can ask us to correct personal information that is inaccurate.
The right to limit. You can ask us to limit the use of sensitive personal information to certain purposes; we currently use sensitive information only for the purposes the CCPA permits without limitation.
The right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you the Service, charge you a different price, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at roohbrew.admin@gmail.com. For your protection, we will ask you to verify your identity before responding to a request. You may also authorize an agent to act on your behalf; we may ask the agent for proof of your authorization.
We do not sell or share (in the CCPA sense) personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
7. Children
Roohbrew is for adults. Accounts are for people 18 and older. At this stage of Roohbrew, minors are not permitted at events. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, please write to us at roohbrew.admin@gmail.com and we will delete it.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information as long as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet our legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever experience a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Roohbrew evolves. The “Effective” date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. If we make material changes, we will let you know through the Service or by other reasonable means.
