Host Agreement

This Host Agreement is between you and Roohbrew Inc. ("Roohbrew," "we," "us") and applies whenever you create or run an event through Roohbrew. It is part of our Terms of Service — the Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines all apply to you as a host, and this agreement adds the terms specific to hosting. If this agreement and the Terms ever conflict about hosting, this agreement controls.

We wrote it in plain language because we want hosts to actually read it. If anything is unclear, write to us at hello@roohbrew.com.

1. What hosting on Roohbrew is

When you host, you are creating and running your own real-world event. You choose the space, the activity, the contributions, the price if any, and the people you approve. Roohbrew is the place where people find your event and, for paid events, the way they pay for it. We are not a party to your event, we do not run it with you, and we do not supervise it.

2. You are independent

You host in your own capacity. You are not Roohbrew's employee, agent, contractor, partner, or joint venturer, and hosting does not make you one. You do not provide services or labor to us; you provide your event to your guests. Nothing in this agreement gives either of us the right to bind the other, and you may not present yourself as acting on Roohbrew's behalf.

3. Your event listing

Describe it truthfully. Your event name, description, contribution list, price, group size, and every other detail you publish must be accurate and stay accurate. If something material changes, update the listing.

Suggestions are yours once you publish them. We may offer automatically generated suggestions for your event — a drafted description, proposed contributions, a suggested price. They are conveniences only. You review, edit, and choose what to publish, and by publishing you adopt the result as your own.

Your listing content is licensed to us. The content license in Section 4 of the Terms applies to what you post, including use in marketing.

4. Your space

You represent that you have the right to use the space where your event is held — whether it is your home, a park, a cafe, or a rented room — and that you are responsible for obtaining any permission, license, or permit the space or the gathering requires under applicable local rules. Reservations, rental agreements, and anything else between you and a venue are yours, not ours. We do not verify, advise on, or take responsibility for any of this.

5. Running the event

You are responsible for how your event is run and for exercising reasonable care toward the people at it. You agree to follow the law and our Community Guidelines, to treat guests with respect, and not to discriminate against guests on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.

Contributions and food. Whatever you bring or make yourself, you are solely responsible for — including disclosing known allergens and ingredients honestly, and including its safety and legality. Contribution lists are not reviewed or screened by Roohbrew; what appears on yours is your responsibility.

Showing up. Hosting is a commitment to real people. Publish events you intend to hold, at the time you said, with the contributions you committed to.

6. Alcohol

Roohbrew does not provide, sell, serve, supervise, or manage alcohol at any event, and your event price may not be a charge for alcohol. If alcohol is present at your event, that is your and your guests' choice, made under the laws that apply to you — including that you must not furnish alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age or to any intoxicated person.

7. Pets

If you indicate your event as open to pets, you represent that pets are permitted at your chosen venue, and you accept responsibility for that choice. If your event is not indicated as open to pets, guests are told not to bring animals. Any animal you bring yourself is solely your responsibility, including any harm it causes.

8. Your guests' information

Hosting shows you limited information about the people who RSVP — such as names, photos, and short bios — so you can run your event. That information is entrusted to you for the event and for nothing else. You agree not to use it for marketing, not to sell or share it, not to add guests to mailing lists or contact them for unrelated purposes, and not to keep or compile it beyond what the event itself requires. How guests and you stay in touch afterward is up to the people involved — but the information the Service showed you is not a contact database.

9. Insurance

Roohbrew provides no insurance of any kind for hosts, guests, events, or venues. There is no liability coverage, no property-damage coverage, and no protection program standing behind your event. If your event involves risks you would not want to bear personally, securing insurance is your responsibility — and note that many homeowner's and renter's policies exclude injuries or damage connected to paid events, so do not assume an existing policy covers your hosting.

10. Money, if you charge

This section summarizes how paid hosting works; Section 5 of the Terms governs payments in full.

• You are the seller. Paid seats are sold by you, not by Roohbrew. We (through our payment processor, Stripe) collect payment as your limited payment-collection agent; a guest who pays through the Service has satisfied their payment obligation to you.
• Platform fee. We keep a platform fee — currently ten percent (10%) of the listed price — and the payment processor's fee is deducted from your share. The remainder is yours.
• Payouts. To be paid, you must complete payout onboarding with Stripe (including Stripe's connected-account agreement) and provide the information we or Stripe reasonably require, including tax information. Your share is held and released after the event takes place, ordinarily beginning no earlier than twenty-four (24) hours after it ends. If you have not completed onboarding within one hundred eighty (180) days of an event, we may refund the affected payments to your guests, which fully discharges our obligations for those amounts.
• Refunds come out of the event's payments. When a guest cancels, the standard refund schedule shown to them applies automatically, and partial-refund math (including proportional retention of the platform fee) is handled by the Service.
• Chargebacks. If a charge for your event is disputed, we may pause related payouts, contest the dispute, and recover from you any amounts already paid out in connection with the disputed charge, including by offsetting against your future payouts.
• Taxes. Amounts you receive are your income. You are responsible for any taxes on them.
• Off-platform payments — cash, payment apps, anything arranged outside the Service — are entirely between you and your guests, and entirely your responsibility.

11. Cancelling your event

If you cancel, every guest who paid through the Service is refunded in full, automatically, and you receive no payout for the event. Cancel as early as you can — people plan around you. Repeated cancellations, no-shows, or events that materially fail to match their listing may lead to removal of your events or suspension of your account.

12. If something goes wrong

Your guests' attendance is governed by the Terms, including the assumption-of-risk and release provisions there. As between you and Roohbrew: you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Roohbrew and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your event, your space, your contributions, the acts of any animal you bring or permit, your violation of this agreement, or your violation of any law or any right of another. Disputes between you and a guest are between the two of you; we have no obligation to mediate.

13. Ending this agreement

You can stop hosting at any time; obligations arising from events you already held or sold (including payout, refund, chargeback, indemnity, and tax provisions) survive. We may suspend or terminate your ability to host, or your account, as described in the Terms.

14. Changes

We may update this agreement as Roohbrew evolves. The effective date at the top will always reflect the current version, and for material changes we will ask you to agree again before you continue using the Service.
